you know every morning, i wake up to find this little pink water bottle filled with water, and this bread nicely packaged, beside my macbook. my mum always prepares breakfast for me, and place them nicely so i wont forget to eat.

she'll always insist of preparing the bottle for me cos i never drink water ever. so even though she knows i most prob wont be drinking too, but she still prepares it nevertheless. actually its reverse psychology la, cos i'll be touched so i'll drink it. hahaha.

touching one can. even when shes rushing for time, she'll also prepare them for me.

i just love going to church on Sundays. love reaching church early. love the whole atmosphere. whenever i step into hall 1/8 i'll always feel the atmosphere lifting. i really love going to the house of God.

pastor tan preached an awesome message again. was just reminded of a talk with xiaoting, how she said that pastor tan, pastor kong, they both have different preaching styles which impact people in a different way. and yes, i love them both!


you know today while in church, i just suddenly had this really heartwarming feeling. while praying for the church, God said, this is your church, this is what you are part of, made of. this church is ours, to pray for, to pray together. i dont know why but that moment touched me deeply.


last week's cg meeting, one thing that really struck me. after kneeling down and praying for quite sometime, xiaoting ended the prayer and we sat back down. i looked around and i noticed how each of our knees are red from kneeling, and the pain, having to kneel for quite sometime. and i was just so wowed.. seeing people's knees red from kneeling and praying.


will you be the one, found kneeling and praying till your knees hurt and turn red, crying out to God for a change, for a revival?

i really cant believe it that jj and ying's laptop dont have chinese input.

and yulan didnt even type one chinese word before on her laptop.

so i am up studying again.

actually theres quite little stuff to study la.so should be able to finish. i've more or less covered everything alr.


and i just want to comment that its actually the first time i ever felt so enthu about studying. like, i really dont mind having exams for this chinese history stuff. cos i really like reading up on them etc. haha.

i've always wanted to know more, and the test really forced me into reading them up. and it feels good somehow. haha. i'm crazy yes.


now i'm on all the chinese philosophies 老子、孔子、荀子、孟子 all those. i find all their names quite cool. dont you think so?all the 子s in the world unite! haha. i'll probably be a 张子 or 婷子.haha.very not nice!




and it feels real good to have caryn mugging with me. haha. shes like the one who can totally relate to my 2am-5am mugging craziness. hahaha. jiayou girl! :) and get well soon soon! you are sick all the time, its irritating me.haha.

i find it totally funny that i feel so alive and awake at wee hours of the morning. and time spent mugging at this hour is so much more productive.

so maybe next time i can just sleep thru my day and study at night? hahaha. cannot la, too unhealthy.

i miss talking to my dear yulan.

ytd was fathers' day.

it was a weird feeling really. when everyone asked, 'arent you going to celebrate fathers' day?'

today i was looking at the collage thing that was inside the bulletin. and i saw the different ones, telling their daddies 'i love you', and how their daddies are their 'best friend'.

i couldnt help but think, how is it really like to have a nice father? to laugh around with, to hug, to share problems etc.


i remember reading surina's blog, that her dad did some really funny stuff, and how she blogged and said how cute her father is.

and how cally is like closer to her dad than her mum, whom she can always be like a little girl to and throw tantrums and all.

and how ying's dad cares enough to dress her wounds when she falls etc etc.


you know, i've never experienced such stuff before. it feels unreal..




so just now.. i was talking to God.

and tears just came and flowed down..

God has always been that father.. whenever i feel down, he is that fatherly figure that i run to.. he has been so close, so close to my heart..
i really really dont know how i would have gone through all these, without knowing that i have a Father, always around and beside me.

i was just sitting there, with His presence so thick around me..

and i felt so protected. i felt so loved.
i felt like a little girl, happy, without worries, because my daddy is there.

and i dont know how long i sat there, tears just flowing, and enjoying His presence.



and really, i'm willing to go through all these, just for that moment.

i really pray that this time round, i will not fall behind again like the countless times i did previously. when i did things for 'just enough' rather than excellently.

i've been praying.

and i pray that what burdens your heart will burden mine even more. that i can truly stand up and fight a good fight.


the fight is only starting. i can feel it.

you know i wont give up my 'alone time' early in the morning for anything. often, it gives me inspiration and the space to think that i normally dont. you know, in the day, things often get so busy and fast that you just cant stop and think.


anyhow, my mum is in the faraway land of China now.

and you know, i'm just so grateful for everything that she has given up for me.

i wanted an ipod video, which cost $520 then. she bought it for me as my birthday present.
i wanted a new handphone badly, and she spent x3 money she normally would spend on her own just to buy me one.
i needed a laptop and she spent $1988 on a macbook. with cash.
i wanted to change courses badly, and it was her who supported me, and telling me not to worry about the money, just follow my heart.


and the weekend i spent with her before she left, she admitted that years ago when we first moved to Pasir Ris, we were so hard off then.

my dad wasnt exactly helping much, so it was her who shouldered all the bills and me+sis' education fees and all. and after paying for all that, she was often left with a few hundred.

and back then, my maths and english werent good, so she would spend most of the money left on tuition for me.


i think i was P4-5 then. and i remember i loved delifrance's croissant and orange juice. i think it cost $3.50 then.

my mum was saying how she used to save her money everyday for the weekend just so i can have my favourite croissant and orange juice after tuition every saturday. she didnt even bare to spend more than $3 on herself for meals, often eating $1+ chee cheong fan to get pass.


my heart broke when she told me this.. and i didnt know for so many years. that back then, every delifrance meal was bought with such love and sacrifice.

just because my mum loved me and wanted to give me her best. without even thinking for herself.



and how selfish i am. always so wanting and never once thinking of how to give back.
